The 2009 Anwilka is a blend of 56% Syrah and 44% Cabernet Sauvignon has a vivacious bouquet of blackberry, forest floor and graphite that is very well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins: succulent blackberry, tobacco and spice all vying for attention. The finish neatly treads a fine line between Old World and New World. Upon reflection, I wager that this is one of the finest Anwilkas to date and comes recommended. Drink now-2022.
