The estate’s second wine, the 2006 Les Pagodes de Cos, continues to demonstrate improvement. Aromas of lead pencil shavings, damp earth, forest floor, sweet currant and berry fruit, along with hints of smoke and herbs jump from the glass of this medium-bodied, fresh, savory, supple-textured effort. Consume it during its first decade of life.

Shows earth and spice character, with plum and berries. Medium-bodied, with light tannins and a simple finish. Best from 2011 through 2014. -JS

There is a high proportion of Merlot in this wine, and it shows in its ripe softness, with a depth of sweetness that goes all the way through. The tannins are there, but only just discernible.——R.V.(3/1/2009)—— 89
