The 2004 Graacher Domprobst Riesling Auslese “Fass #88”, A.P. #9 announces itself with high-toned aromas of lemon oil and Chartreuse-like distilled herbal and floral essences. Dense and viscous on the palate, and with 9% alcohol, relatively full and dry for a Mosel Auslese, it offers a refined, subtle, stony finish. A style of Auslese such as was the norm 35 or more years ago, I suspect it will mature satisfyingly for as many years. Importer: Langdon-Shiverick Cleveland,?OH; tel. (216) 861-6800.
