The 2006 Barbera d’Alba Superiore is an engaging red loaded with ripe dark fruit, toasted oak, smoke, tar and earthiness. This medium-bodied wine offers superb depth on the palate, not to mention commendable balance. It is a terrific effort. 2008-2011.
I can’t say enough good things about the wines of Hilberg-Pasquero, a small estate located in the Roero. While I have always enjoyed the wines, this set of releases is off the charts.
