The 2013 Val d'Arno di Sopra Torrione has become Petrolo's flagship wine with some 45,000 bottles produced annually. The wine is based mostly on Sangiovese from the estate's historic vineyards, but it also sees smaller parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The Sangiovese component can vary from 65-80% depending on the vintage. This is a complete wine that shows superior results in this classic (and slightly cooler) vintage. It delivers a generous dose of dark fruit with savory spice and overall Tuscan opulence.
