Mugnier's 2015 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale Blanc (a cuvée that tends to amount to around 12 barrels per year) is excellent, offering up notes of apple, stone fruit pit and honey. On the palate, the wine is glossy and full-bodied, with bright acids and chewy extract, finishing with chalky grip. "When I set out to make white wine, I imagined it was very technical. In the end, I figured out that it was much like making red wine: the less you do, the better," observed Mugnier.
