The 1989 is a superb Barbaresco Masseria. It offers a blockbuster nose of tar, black-cherries, and spice, and a fabulously rich, full-bodied, highly extracted palate. This super-concentrated, huge Barbaresco can be drunk now or cellared for 20 years. Alfredo Currado is one of the great gentlemen of Piedmont, so it is delightful to share with readers my enthusiastic reviews of his 1989 and 1990 offerings.
