The 2006 Barbera d’Alba Sori’ di Mu’ offers up scorched earth, tar, licorice and black fruits in a dark, brooding style of Barbera. Here, too, the wine’s richness has been achieved at the loss of some freshness, but the overall balance is outstanding. Ideally, the wine is best enjoyed on the young side.
