The 2010 Barbera d’Alba Suri di Mu sees 15 months of new French oak and does a great job of relegating those wood-driven notes of spice and tobacco an unobtrusive supporting role. Overall, it shows a surprisingly elegant and feminine side with explosive berry fruit and pressed red rose. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020.
Founded in 1914, Icardi is located between the Langhe and Monferrato regions and is run by brother and sister team Claudio and Mariagrazia Icardi. The estate boasts 75 hectares of vines of which ten are farmed according to biodynamic principles.
