The 2009 Eric Stevens Purbrick Shiraz is very fine and yet fleshy. There is primary fruit but also a skein of firm, graphite tannin through the middle palate. One suspects that this may go the direction of the 2006, and even to a certain extent, the 2004, in terms of tannin splay and levity. Lovely. Mineral. Lean. Gravelly. Fine. Tobacco leaf, black tea.
