A seriously endowed, deep ruby/purple-tinged effort, Koltz’s 2003 Shiraz reveals notions of sweet new oak along with medium body and disjointed tannin. A creamy attack and mid-palate are followed by a somewhat awkward wine. Nevertheless, there is plenty to like in this pure, ripe, concentrated Shiraz. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.Importer: Grape Expectations Wine Imports, Raleigh, NC; tel. (919) 781-1655
