The 1990 Barolo Vigna Giachini is darker and more vivid in its color than the 1989, qualities that are also reflected in its rich, textured expression of fruit. There is lovely density and richness on the palate as the wine blossoms in an expansive, generous style. Sweet tobacco and cedar linger on the close. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2015.
Brothers Renato and Giuliano Corino have since divided their family’s holdings, but these early Barolos set them apart as some of the most forward-thinking producers of their generation.
