The 2010 Aloxe-Corton Les Boutieres shows gorgeous plushness and depth in its dark red cherries, flowers and spices. Iron, iodine and mineral notes balance the wine's overt juiciness. This is a lovely effort. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020. Domaine des Croix is just around the corner from Camille Giroud, where winemaker David Croix is also in charge. The Domaine des Croix wines are typically made in a forward, fruit-driven style. Although the wines can age, my preference is to drink them on the young side. In 2010, yields came in around 20-25 hectoliters, very low by any measure. I tasted most of the 2010s from barrel, except as noted.
