The 2009 Terras D'el Rei is a blend of 50% Trincadeira, 30% Aragonez and 20% Castelao. Nicely focused this year, a bit herbal and bright, it should make a graceful and pleasing house pour. It has ripe tannins around the edges for support and texture that makes it seem fuller than it is in the mid-palate. Overall, early on at least, it seems a bit more serious than its price point would suggest. This wine has some limitations in structure and depth, obviously, but given its price point, it is not only charming, but a pretty nice entry level choice for parties, picnics and house pours. Drink it young and fresh for best results. Drink now-2013. Importer: Tri-Vin Imports, Mt. Vernon, NY; tel. (914) 664-3155
