As is to be expected in this vintage, the 2005 Non Confunditur reveals less opulence and fatness than the 2006. Still, it shows excellent balance and harmony on the palate, in a lithe, taut style that tends towards an expression of dark red fruit, sweet herbs and tobacco. Here the Sangiovese component in the blend seems a little more prominent than in the 2006. The higher acidity of the 2005 makes it an ideal wine for table, whereas the 2006 could be enjoyed either at the table or on its own. Readers looking for a delicious Tuscan wine at a reasonable price should give careful consideration to the 2005 Non Confunditur.
