The 2005 Cenit is 100% Tinta de Toro from 60- to over 100-year-old ungrafted vines. The wine was barrel fermented and aged for 18 months new oak. Deep crimson-colored, it has a superb bouquet of cedar, wood smoke, saddle leather, tobacco, mineral, blueberry, and blackberry. Full-bodied, rich, and opulent, the wine is intense, complex, and structured for several years of cellaring. It should be at its best from 2012 to 2025. The region of Tierra del Vino de Zamora should have been included in the Toro D.O. but was overlooked when the boundaries were drawn. Vinas del Cenit has a total of 44 hectares, 15% of which are ungrafted 100-year-old vines used to make Triton.Importer: Jorge Ordonez, Fine Estates From Spain, Tel: (781) 461-5767
