The 2001 Balandra is composed of equal parts Grenache, Carignan, and Cabernet Sauvignon. It was aged for 12 months in American oak. On the nose toasty oak mingles with slightly baked black raspberries, black cherries, and floral elements. It offers a supple feel on the palate with enough ripe tannin to carry it for another 6-8 years.
