The 2013 Barolo Buon Padre is not an expression of a single-vineyard site. Instead, this wine represents a blend of nine different crus (the same ones as the 2012 vintage, plus Albarella). This is a tonic and clean Barolo with a lot of extra detailing and sharpness in terms of the bouquet. There are dark berry notes followed by spice, licorice and grilled herb. This is a fresh and balanced vintage. Some 39,000 bottles were made.

This red shimmers with licorice, cherry, tar and mineral aromas and flavors. A bit heady, but expressive, with plenty of buried cherry notes at the core. Fresh and lightly chewy on the long finish. Best from 2021 through 2036. 3,166 cases made.??–BS??Region: Italy / Piedmont / Barolo Select to Add
