The 2001 Serrapiu, which adds Cabernet to Barbera and Nebbiolo, shows cassis fruit along with the kirsch and ample notes of vanilla and cloves, and a dense smooth palate with much tar and char, licorice, and sweet berry fruit. Built to last, it will drink well from 2004 to 2018.
