The brilliant 2003 Finca Dofi, a blend of 60% Grenache and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, and Carignan, was aged in 100% new French oak. Fashioned from yields of less than 20 hectoliters per hectare, there are slightly less than 1,800 cases of this effort. It boasts a dense purple color as well as an extraordinary perfume of acacia flowers, crushed rocks, blueberries, black currants, licorice, and subtle wood. Super-expressive, rich, and full-bodied, with wonderfully integrated acidity, tannin, and wood, it should drink beautifully for 10-15 years.
