The opaque ruby/purple-colored 2002 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 8 looks more like a Syrah than a Pinot, but it offers a classic Pinot Noir bouquet of plums, sweet cherries, anise, earth, and a hint of sassafras. It is medium to full-bodied, with crisp, zesty acidity backing up its concentration and vibrancy. This is a big, up-lifting Pinot to drink over the next 5-7 years.
