A blend of Grillo, Catarratto and Chardonnay, the 2014 Piano Maltese opens to a light gold color and pretty luminosity. This is a very well executed white wine with a generous bouquet of honeysuckle, pear and a touch of natural rubber that you sometimes get with the indigenous Sicilian grapes present in the blend. I particularly like the way the wine tastes in the mouth: It offers generous richness and silkiness without feeling heavy.
