Rogue Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has yet to carve out any sort of reputation for itself, and has been prone to herbaceous, even vegetal fruit with aggressively rough tannins. Winemaker Jonathan Oberlander has gone a ways toward taming them, rounding out the fruit, and crafting a complete and satisfying wine. Its best feature is the nose, complex, varietal and tightly laced. The mix of dried herb, black olive, smoke and cassis fills in the midpalate with Bordeaux-like authority.——P.G.(10/1/2010)—— 89
