The Oberrotweiler 2017 Weissburgunder Henkenberg GG is from 30+-year-old vines and opens with much more charm than the corresponding Kirchberg at this stage. The nose is delicate and refined as well as intense in its fruit and brioche as well as lemon and salt aromas. Pure, fresh and elegant on the palate, this is another puristic Pinot Blanc yet with a bit more mango flavors and according juiciness. This is round and pleasant yet also with finesse and mineral backbone and lingering salinity and lemon freshness. Suitable for lighter fish dishes and also salty veggies, namely algae. Tasted in October 2020.
