The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Wedding Vineyard (a south-facing vineyard planted on a steep slope adjacent to the winery on the backside of the Mayacamas Mountains in Sonoma County) exhibits a gorgeous perfume of scorched earth, charcoal, creme de cassis, sweet cherries, spice box and earth. Sweet tannin, an opulent texture and a long, rich finish make for another strikingly superb 2001 that is approaching full maturity.
