The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon The Bully was sourced from three Red Mountain vineyards and aged in 80% new French oak. Purple-colored, the nose offers up earth notes, cedar, black currant, and blackberry. It has a firm entry on the palate with layered fruit and ripe, spicy black fruit flavors. There is enough structure for 5-7 years of further evolution and the finish lasts for 45+ seconds. It should provide peak drinking from 2012 to 2025.
Chris Gorman, whose first commercial vintage was 2002, currently produces 1600 cases out of a Woodinville warehouse. He is a colleague of Mark Ryan McNeilly and a similar philosophy seems to be reflected in the wines.
