The red wines begin with the crimson-colored 2007 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. It presents an attractive nose of cedar, mineral, black currant, and blackberry. Medium-bodied with a firm structure and several years of cellaring potential, this elegantly styled wine offers ample sweet fruit, spicy black fruit flavors, good balance, and a medium-long finish. It is a very good value in quality Cabernet. It will be at its best from 2009-2017. Finca Sophenia is owned by Roberto Luka, formerly president of Wines of Argentina. The winemaking consultant is Michel Rolland. The wines are all produced from estate-grown fruit.
