Punta is a single-vineyard parcel in the Castiglione Falletto township. It is located on the upper part of a hill and the site is planted to old Barbera vines that give low yields and concentrated fruit as a result. The 2015 Barbera d'Alba Punta offers a very distinctive bouquet of dark fruit, tobacco, smoke and barbecue spice. The winery points out that no new oak is used to make this wine. It only sees contact with neutral oak, but you'd hardly guess that given the opulence and richness of the material on hand. Some 6,400 bottles were produced.
