Last of the whites, the 2012 Condrieu is another classic example of the variety. Aged half in barrels and half in tank, it boasts textbook aromas and flavors of white flowers, apricot and freshly sliced peaches that flow to a medium bodied, fresh, focused and pure feel on the palate. Made in a focused, lively style, it shines more for its freshness and purity than richness and size. Drink it over the coming 2-3 years.
Owned by the Guigal team, with the wines made by Guy Sarton-de-Joncquey, Vidal Fleury produces a wealth of high quality releases, most of which represent fantastic values. In addition to the northern and southern Rhone releases reviewed here, readers should also look at Issue 209 for the remainder of the southern Rhone efforts.
