The 2010 Pinot Noir Pisoni is rich, deep and powerful, as so many wines from this site often are. I don’t quite find the nuance or the energy of the Rosella’s; instead, it is the wine’s structure and tannin that seems to dominate. If the 2010 softens, it may merit a higher score, but today I am not sure that will happen. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. This is a solid, consistent set of wines from Bernardus. Tel. Showcasing the Pisoni signature of huge, bold fruit, this wine has ripe and savory flavors of raspberry, cherry, pomegranate, persimmon. The wine tastes of oak, too, in the form of vanilla and smoky butter. It’s a delicious wine. Give it six years in a good cellar. — (12/1/2012) —90
