The 2003 Cotes du Rhone, a wine I rarely see, was yummy stuff. Produced from a 5-acre plot, and aged in old barrels, it exhibits plenty of sweet black cherry and currant fruit along with hints of licorice, dried herbs, and pepper. With light tannin in the finish, and a big, velvety, voluptuous texture, it will drink well for 3-4 years.
