The 2009 Seleccion was sourced from 40-year-old Tempranillo vines and aged for 16 months in new French barriques. It offers up a captivating perfume of wood smoke, Asian spices, incense, lavender, and a hint of balsamic. In the glass it opens to reveal layered, spicy black cherry and blackberry flavors in a modern expression of Ribera del Duero. Rich, concentrated, and lengthy, it will evolve for 2-3 years and drink well through 2024.
