The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gualto reveals gorgeous clarity and freshness in its dark red cherries, fresh flowers, minerals, spices, tar and French oak. This is a fairly accessible 2004 Riserva and should drink well pretty much upon release. Suggestions of tar, French oak and scorched earth linger on the beautifully balanced finish. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2019.
Camigliano is a relatively large estate located in the western side of Montalcino. The Brunellos are made in the forward, fruit-driven style that characterizes most of the wines from this part of Montalcino.
