The 1997 Meursault Genevrieres Cuvee des Pierres (75 cases were produced) is complex and complete. Intensely ripe white fruit and candied orange rind aromas lead to an awesomely sweet, dense wine. This full-bodied, concentrated, and complex offering is crammed with caramelized apples, spiced and poached pears, and traces of grilled oak. It has admirable balance for a wine of this richness. With its long, mouth-coating finish, this opulent beauty should be drunk between 2000 and 2006.
