They are doing a library release of 1,500 half-liter bottles of the dry Muscat 1999 Casta Diva Cosecha Dorada to celebrate the 35th anniversary of this wine to show its aging potential. 1999 was a year of average rain, 800 liters, and the wine achieved 12% alcohol, keeping a low pH of 3.2 after six months with fine lees in stainless steel. The wine has aged in bottle for 23 years. It has a deep golden color. Tasted blind I would have guessed an old white Rioja (from Marqués de Murrieta) with some honeyed notes, quince paste, herbs and hints of old cellar, hints of mushroom and scorched earth. The palate is light to medium-bodied with tasty flavors, good acidity and some toasty notes. It was bottled in February 2000. A superb ringer for a blind tasting!
