The 2013 Aloxe Corton (les Valozieres), from just under Bressandes, come from 0.38-hectares of vine. It has a slightly sulky bouquet at first: mulberry and wild hedgerow, subtle cold stone scents loitering in the wings. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, slightly chalky tannin, a keen thread of acidity and concludes with a structured, quite masculine finish. It does not possess enormous length but it should evolve into a refreshing Aloxe-Corton to drink over the next 4-6 years.
