The 2004 Pinot Noir “Shea Vineyard” is made in an elegant style. It has a nose of spice box, cherry, raspberry, and cola. This leads to a medium-bodied wine with good flavors and some elegance but, ultimately, the wine comes off as superficial. The other wines tasted were uninspiring. This is a winery that was started by the talented Ken Wright and there was a time when Panther Creek was making some of Oregon’s finest Pinots. That is apparently no longer the case.Tel: (503) 472-8080. Also tasted: 2004 Pinot Noir “Temperance Hill” (84), 2004 Pinot Noir “Freedom Hill” (84)
