Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Corton Pougets Grand Cru from Louis Jadot has a dark and broody bouquet, and yet it is well defined with subtle marine notes filtering through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, the acidity well judged leading to a structured, quite masculine, almost Pommard-like finish that has good sustain. This is a well crafted Corton with plenty of matière, though I would be inclined to leave it for three or four years.
