The 2015 Redoma Branco, the latest version of Niepoort's familiar field blend from old vines, is in good form this year. Opening with a bit too much wood, it shows the ability to pull it in and let the freshness underneath shine through. It is still best used as a food wine. Its combination of wood, elegance, freshness and understatement will serve it in good stead as a pairing. These tend to age well, but there is no reason to wait. No price was provided, although past vintages were in the mid-twenties.
