The 2006 Barbera d’Alba Conca Tre Pile marries ripe fruit with a firm, classic sense of structure. Red cherries, flowers, minerals and licorice linger on the polished finish. This focused, refined Barbera is sure to deliver thrilling drinking over the next few years. I loved it. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014.
These 2006 reds from Aldo Conterno are well worth seeking out. I am far less enamored with the 2006 Langhe Chardonnay Bussiador, which comes across as heavy and lacking elegance.
