The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino is made in a soft, opulent style. Plums, raisins, chocolate, sweet spices, new leather and flowers emerge from this round, velvety Brunello. The finish is long, sweet and polished. This is another of the more accessible wines in this vintage, and it appears to have enough stuffing to drink well for at least another few years, although it is unlikely to develop any real complexity. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2014.
