The 2007 Vendimia Seleccionada spent 18 months in new French and American oak. It delivers an already complex bouquet of earthy minerality, pencil lead, spice box, lavender, and assorted black fruits. Dense, ripe, and well-balanced with the oak nicely integrated, it will evolve for 2-3 years and offer a drinking window extending through 2022.
Bodegas J.A. Calvo Casajus is owned and operated by its namesake, Jose Alberto Calvo Casajus. It is literally a one man undertaking with Casajus also doubling as his village’s baker. His grandfather planted the estate’s Tempranillo vines in 1920. All of the above wines are produced from these vineyards.
