The 1999 Pinot Noir Hirsch Vineyard (14.4% alcohol) is made from such Pinot Noir clones as Pommard, Dijon #114, and Mount Eden. The wine exhibits a dark plum/ruby color along with a sweet, moderately intense nose of red/black fruits, apple skins, black cherry fruit, smoke, and earth. Medium-bodied and soft, with firm tannin in the finish, it should evolve nicely for 7-8 years. Virtually all of Littorai's wines, save those sold at restaurants, are purchased via a mailing list.
