The Bonnefonds make a terrific Condrieu from one of the best sites on the hills above the village, the Cotes Chatillon. Rich, concentrated, and powerful, with plenty of rose petal, honeysuckle, and marmalade notes, but with good acidity, minerality, and terrific richness, this is a powerful, full-scale wine that should drink nicely for another 2-3 years. Bonnefond has emerged as one of the finest producers of Cote Rotie with a strong showing in nearly every vintage except for the poorer years like 2002.
