The 2010 Beaune Cent Vignes (from tank) shows lovely energy and focus, with a bit more depth and textural richness than the straight Beaune. I especially like the mid-palate pliancy and energy in the Cent Vignes. David Croix used 20% whole clusters here. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022.
Domaine des Croix is just around the corner from Camille Giroud, where winemaker David Croix is also in charge. The Domaine des Croix wines are typically made in a forward, fruit-driven style. Although the wines can age, my preference is to drink them on the young side. In 2010, yields came in around 20-25 hectoliters, very low by any measure. I tasted most of the 2010s from barrel, except as noted.
