Pape-Clement owns only 6.5 acres of vines dedicated to white grape varietals. The blend utilized is 45% Semillon, 45% Sauvignon Blanc, and 10% Muscadelle. The wines are vinified and aged in new oak. The 1993 is the best white Pape-Clement yet made, exhibiting a fragrant, wonderfully ripe nose of spicy fruit and well-integrated oak, rich, medium to full-bodied, crisp flavors of minerals, honey, and melons, and a lively, refreshing finish. It should drink well for 10-15 years.
