The 2010 Reserva is similar to the Crianza, but as it is aged for 14 months in new French oak, it feels a bit muted, with shy, reticent aromas and a medium-bodied palate with fine tannins. It seems too light, easy-to-drink and simple for a 2010 Reserva. Drink now-2017.
Pago de los Capellanes produces one million bottles. In the context of the region, and compared with their older vintages, I found some irregular wines and was a bit disappointed with the 2010s, which I expected would have more stuffing.
