Garnacha Tintorera is better known in the USA as Alicante Bouchet. At Castillo de Almansa the vines are planted without trellises and give tiny yields of 1.2 tons per acre. The 2005 Garnacha Tintorera, raised in stainless steel, is purple-colored with ripe black fruit aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, supple on the palate, and tasty, this excellent value can be enjoyed over the next two years.
