The Abbazia di Rosazzo is an architectural gem in Friuli with one of the most beautiful rose gardens in northern Italy. The area around the abbey is identified as its own wine appellation. Livio Felluga's 2015 Rosazzo Abbazia di Rosazzo is a well-contemplated blend of Friulano, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon, Malvasia and Ribolla Gialla. You don't necessarily taste the traits of any one single grape, you taste them all instead. Like the rose garden I described above, each varietal adds a point of color and texture that together creates a beautiful single entity that should be taken in all at once. Bright fruit and citrus segue to white almond and spring flower. Hey, you get plenty of rose aromas as well for good measure.
