A blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot, aged 22 months in 100% new French oak, the 2012 Proprietary Red Alessandra is another limited production of only 120 six-bottle cases. This wine is killer good, but needs a good 4-5 years cellaring and should evolve nicely for at least three decades. It’s a stunner, with great density and a full-bodied mouthfeel. Notes of white flowers intermixed with blueberry and blackberry liqueur, graphite and forest floor are also present in this big, dense, wonderfully well-balanced wine.
